Open: Manual Mode → Credit Note or Debit Note
Before you begin
Keep the original customer invoice or supplier bill and the reason for the adjustment. For goods, establish which inventory return will record the stock effect.
Practise in a test company first. Check the active company and your permissions. Available options depend on your plan, role and platform.
- 01
Open the original sale or purchase and check the amount or quantity that needs adjustment.
- 02
In Manual Mode, choose Credit Note to reduce a customer invoice or Debit Note to reduce a supplier bill.
- 03
Select the customer or supplier and original reference where required. Enter returned items or adjustment amounts and a clear reason.
- 04
Review the tax change and party balance effect. For goods, check the linked Inventory return workflow so the same return is not recorded twice.
- 05
Preview and confirm the note. Inspect the original reference, note and party statement together.
- 06
If a refund is actually paid or received, record that money movement separately and reconcile it against the bank statement.
Check your result
The adjustment is traceable and the party balance reflects it.
If something doesn’t look right
Ask your accountant which note type applies when the commercial and accounting direction is unclear.
