01
Start with the company and period
Choose the legal entity, reporting period and statement you need. Check that the workflow accepts your entity and source format. A file you can upload as history may still need a different format for mapping.
02
Make accounts easy to trace
Keep account names and references consistent in your export. If you rename an account, record the change so your reviewer can follow a statement line back to the original books.
03
Check totals before mapping
Check that the source balances agree before you map them. Resolve missing entries and overlapping periods first; mapping will not fix those differences. Keep the checked source file alongside your working copy.
04
Give your accountant a clear review
Work through unmapped accounts and check the notes, then ask your accountant to review the statements. Exporting the package prepares it for the next step; any required filing happens separately.
