Before you begin

Create raw-material and finished-good items, their units and warehouses. Verify available material stock and the quantities needed for the finished item.

Practise in a test company first. Check the active company and your permissions. Available options depend on your plan, role and platform.

  1. 01

Open Inventory → BOM and create a bill of materials for the finished item. Add component quantities, save and review the draft, then activate it.

  2. 02

Open Production and create an order. Select the finished good, active BOM and planned quantity.

  3. 03

Review material availability and shortages. Release the draft order when ready, then select Start Production.

  4. 04

Record the materials actually issued from their warehouses. Check units and actual quantities against the order.

  5. 05

Use the finished-goods receipt action to record good output and scrap. Review progress and planned versus actual costs.

  6. 06

Complete the order through the action allowed by its status. Open Position and verify raw-material consumption and finished-goods quantities before dispatch.

Check your result

The order records actual material use and output, and stock quantities reflect the completed production.
