Open: Desktop Settings → Sync & backups → External backups

Before you begin

Use the desktop application, finish open work and choose a storage folder you can access later. The backup contains the local SQLite database across company and client workspaces. Separately stored document files are not included in that database snapshot; preserve them separately and verify cloud uploads where applicable. Browser users may see an explanation instead of local backup controls.

Practise in a test company first. Check the active company and your permissions. Available options depend on your plan, role and platform.

  1. 01

Open the desktop app and review the selected company and sync state. Save work that is still open.

  2. 02

Open Settings → Sync & backups and External backups. Select Choose folder and pick the intended backup destination.

  3. 03

Select Back up now and wait for completion. Read any reported error before starting another attempt.

  4. 04

Check that the completed backup appears under Verified snapshots. Confirm its time and destination so you can identify the recovery point later.

  5. 05

Only when recovery is needed, select the intended verified snapshot and Restore. Check the snapshot date and read the confirmation: the app checks compatibility, keeps the current database locally for rollback and restarts after restoring.

  6. 06

After restoration, inspect company records, recent vouchers, documents and sync status before resuming work.

Check your result

A completed, verified snapshot is available in your chosen backup destination.

If something doesn’t look right

Check folder access and free space if creation fails. Sync, report exports and external backups serve different purposes; check the snapshot rather than assuming a synced company is a backup.
